Course Overview:

This course has been designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of disaster management within communities. Its purpose is to equip learners with valuable insights into minimizing the impact of both natural disasters beyond our control and those caused by human activities and environmental risks. The main focus is on effective preparation, response, and recovery from such calamities.

Expected Learning Outcome:

Upon finishing this course successfully, learners will be able to:

  • Gain a broad knowledge base in disaster preparedness, mitigation, and rehabilitation.
  • Develop skills in conducting risk assessments and vulnerability analyses.
  • Acquire the necessary knowledge to mobilize communities for social action.

Potential career opportunities include roles as, Safety Officers, Security Personnel, Environmental Protection Officers, or Search and Rescue Officers.

Requirements For Admission:

  • In order to be considered for admission, it is necessary for the applicant to have taken the WASSCE and achieved at least a passing grade.
  • Additionally, holding any other recognized qualification will also be taken into consideration when reviewing applications.
  • Applicant must complete and submit an application form that clearly provides all required details.
  • Applicant to demonstrate a strong interest in their chosen study program.
  • Payment of the specified application fee is mandatory.
